Crown Vet Celebrates Five Years of Saving Animals
But its founder has been serving animals for more than two decades.
Veterinary Surgeon Dr. Wendy Ross began Crown Veterinary in 2010 after 10 years at Round Valley Animal Hospital in Lebanon and about eight years as a mobile surgeon, traveling to veterinary hospitals as her skills were required.
“It was my dream (to open my own practice,)” Ross said. “I was the only doctor here for the first few months, then we added emergency late night service and eventually opened 24 hours a day.”
Since Crown Vet’s opening, Ross has gained much publicity for coming to the rescue of animals in particularly bad situations.
Justin, who has his own Facebook page “Justin, Fire Survivor” was one of them.
In April of 2013, when Justin was just a month old someone in his home town of Philadelphia set him on fire on a street corner.
Luckily, someone saw him, smothered the flames and had him brought to Crown Vet, where Ross performed surgery on his third degree burns, saving his life.
